I have a rather odd question and as I always say to my grandchildren if you don't know, never be afraid to ask!

Have you ever heard of a brand of RV's being made by two different manufacturers?
I ask because when researching about our TT I came across this info. Our TT is a Discover Canada. Ours was manufactured by Monaco. Now, Heartland also produced RV's for Discover Canada.
Is this a common practice? If it is, it really enforces my opinion that the majority of RV's are made the same way and same quality.

You can buy an Escape model TT, or a TT made by Escape.

And don't forget, usually all the appliances, some things like toilets, fans, stoves, and even frames, and axles etc. are all made by other manufacturers.

The modern RV is a compilation of many different components built by many manufactures.

another odd RV practice, is twin brands.
many RV manufacturers make the same exact RV but put different brand names/model numbers on them, when the only actual differences are outside graphics and interior colors/patterns.

supposedly this is so two RV dealers in the same area, can sell the same RV, without conflicting with each others' "exclusive" brand.

Winnebago /Itasca is one example of this practice, Color schemes and other amenities are different but the product is essentially the same.

Well its history now but the Hornet was made by Damon up until around 2000 and you could find Hornets by Damon and Hornets by Keystone on the same lot for several years just before I bought mine…
Love my mass produced, entry level, built by Lazy American Workers, Hornet

We have seen the exact same trailer as ours but with different name and graphics. Interior colours and layout identical. Weights all the same.

Plus when companies go into bankruptcy the "brand" name can be sold to a new company, that then sells the "brand" name.

When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.

It can be confusing. :E

Our Enterra is manufactured by Cruiser RV and has no relationship with Cruiser trailers which are manufactured by Crossroads RV. :C

It sounds to me like Discover Canada is a retailer and not a manufacturer. They contract with a builder to make certain RVs to their specs & price and sell them. Pontiac Vibe was built by Toyota, Mercury van of a few years back was actually a Nissan under the sheet metal.
