Can you tell me if you can control how far the vent opens with the remote?

It will stop when it hits something,I have a Maxx Air cover over mine and when it touches the vent cover it will stop.

It also has a manual crank up you can engage and open it any amount of opening that you want. I have used this at times.

Nope. In fact we had to replace our roof vent with a taller one to accommodate the fantastic. The company sells one for that purpose. It's a nice vent, not too expensive and they have a video on-line that makes installation very easy even for me and we love the fan. You also can't reverse the fan with the remote.

No you can not. On mine I can control fan speed, and the temp which the fan comes on automatically or I can control just the speed manually. The vent cover is either fully open or completely closed.
