Flying with Pets

Just finished the first leg of our 42 state odessey, here in Mansfield Oh, and are flying back to NoCa for a little break and hide out from the humidity. Been on the road for just shy of four months. Incredible the hassles involved in flying with pets (our daughter/dog Dixie, 3y/o, about 40lbs) the. Only found two airlines currently carrying pets, then the breed restrictions, tempeture limits, type aircraft, layovers. Sure a lot more than we anticipated....

We're not fulltimers! Just breaking the odyssey into three-four month chunks. Didn't anticipate hot wx this soon. Guess we're not as smart as some of you folks who seem to enjoy Monday morning quarterbacking...

Next trip route yourself so you're not stuck in hot & humid temps in summer! I've never heard of a full-timer stopping and flying back to get cool. ๐Ÿ™‚

The animals wouldn't be so bad, if they didn't all have cell phones. ๐Ÿ™‚

I used to fly with my dog fairly often. Now I fly less than once a year.

If you have followed the news lately you would understand why. Lost pets, dead pets is just the start.
