How many have signed up for goodsam travel assist? Has anyone used it?
Is it worth it? I know with Goodsam you have to read the fine print very closely.

We have it but have not needed to use it. Gives the DW piece of mind if something were to happen to me.

You start a thread with a question (s), or a derogatory statement???

Now how or why is his question...derogatory?.:h

What is wrong with starting a thread with a question?.:h

Appears you are a derogatory *person*, JJ!.:R

So much sarcasm. Too bad. Most of the time the threads are quite good reading.

the part that concerns me is, they will not pick you up at a accident site, according to the GS rep. What they will do is transfer you to another facility if they can't help you. That decision would be up to a Goodsam rep, not the doctor caring for you.

After seeing the bill for my DW being transported to a hospitable by helicopter and reading some reports about the cost people have had to pay out of pocket for these transport servicesโ€ฆ this is something I should at least be considering what my options areโ€ฆ

So far I just havenโ€™t taken the time to educate myself about it, one of those things thatโ€™s too easy to move to the back burnerโ€ฆ

I hope this thread spurs me to devote some timely thought, before I need itโ€ฆ

I originally had it several years ago - dropped the GS one when discovered FMCA provided a similar plan free with membership. Then a year or so ago FMCA dropped their free plan, and what they offered cost more than GS, so am back with GS Travel Assist. Have I used it? No. Do I WANT to use it? NEVER. Is it worth it? YES, for my piece of mind. ST

Have you bothered to read it??? Yes, you do need to read and understand itโ€ฆ
I hear the quip about the small print all the time about GS productsโ€ฆ please read and point out where the small print is that you refer toโ€ฆ it seems that everything is spelled out in the same size print from start to finishโ€ฆ if you have reservations about it because itโ€™s a GS product just move on to a similar product you feel you can trustโ€ฆ

I havenโ€™t used it, nor do I know if itโ€™s worth itโ€ฆ I do know I wouldnโ€™t consider buying from a company I distrust from the get-go (first step)โ€ฆ

Here is a link to the Plan description if you havenโ€™t yet read it (the second step)โ€ฆ it quite simply explains the limitations on the same plane as the benefitsโ€ฆ

We have had it for the past five or six years. Fortunately, we have not had to use it.

Here's a thread from just the last couple of days talking about the same thing on the Forest River Forums:
http://www.forestriverforums.com/forums/f2/good-sam-travel-assist-53024.html

No one reported using it, but the one member did call Good Sam to check on a thing or two. Seems pretty neat.
