I'm not normally in favor of the death penalty but in this case::::::

Most sociopaths lack a conscience so locking them up for life 'to think about what they've done' is a waste of our resources. They need to be put to death. The only reason some of the 'beg for the death penalty' is that they hope it will have the reverse effect.

Hard for me to fathom something like this.

Reading about this whole thing is terrifying to me.
I can visualize starting out happy and excited about traveling then crossing paths with a monster like this.

The DW and I would probably have little chance against an evil horribly violent sociopath.

This guy definitely deserves the max. Trouble is, a death sentence in this country is really almost always just a "life with maximum cost/trouble to taxpayers" sentence. Automatic appeals take YEARS and mucho money, all paid by us, of course.
Aren't there guys on death row(s) that have been there for twenty years or more?

I like "life without parole". No auto-appeal. Lock the monster up, throw away the key, and let the taxpayer-paid Death Penalty Appeals Team find a respectable way to make a living.

Life in prison costs each taxpayer big bucks. Remember you are paying for this a-hole to live in a plush prison with gym, tv, game room, air conditioner, library, cafeteria food better than our kids get in school!! This scum needs to have done to him what he did to those people. Not get a free ride in prison. Remember he escaped once already when he killed them!

I would agree with that but I'm betting that as time rolls along, they are given more and more liberties and live out there stay in a more comfortable setting.
And many are paroled even with a life sentence.
In the case of child molesters for instance, their stay in prison is not the country club at all...they are dealt with by the prisoners themselves.

Not even a change of clothes. Just a lifetime to think of what they did that got them there. They would want the death penalty, but could not have it. But that would be considered considered in-humane. That, in my book, is the ultimate punishment that civilization could give anyone. I'm all for the death penalty and wish it were executed (pun intended) more often and more promptly. Plea bargains make me furious!! :M The Green River killer, here in WA, comes to mind...
