Yep, seen that one. Not saying this is why, but its why they have the laws. Maybe that mother bear has been close to people before and wasn't intimidated by them, so when they ended up being to close she attacked. probably not the families fault, maybe the faut of the someone else that got to close before! Just throwing a possible scenario out there!

Stay away from wildlife so they don't attack other people!

YOu got that right Age. he needed stopping and I for one am glad the authorities stopped him instead of the Bison. Still he warrants an honorable mention over at darwinawards. Amazing how many compete for those awards. Most of which are given posthumously. (For obvious reason) Yes there is a cure for stupidity. that's it.

Well as I understand it, he had already been arrested in Glacier when the charges from YNP and Tetons got to Glacier. For what I don't know. But he was on a rampage and needed to be pulled up.

Well he actually had a hand full of offenses. most all related to his being a bottle baby who has yet to ween himself off the bottle. ONly where as back in his diapered days it was a milk bottle. now it's beer and liquor..

This leads to stupid stuff.

I mean there is even a Bible warning about getting drunk .. Why.> Well to be honest. He DEMONSTRATED Why. Several times before they put the cuffs on him.

I won't bother with the quote but it's basically "Don't get drunk or you may do stupid stuff" he did. (That was a very very very loose translation).

Great, now us tax payers have to provide free room, board, and medical care for 130 days.

I would prefer he do community service in the park system.

Thats a long time to sit in jail if your not a career criminal, I think he got a ton of probation to and as big an ass as he seems he will most likely not make it through probation without doing something stupid.

There is mildly stupid, which we can probably all lay claim to at one point or another; and then there is willfully criminally negligent which this, ah (PA), fellow, was guilty of. And in multiple parks.

Sooo wish that vid showed him getting the boot off the side of the hill. That’s the only thing that could have been better! Serves him right I suppose.
Saw a bison toss a snomachine in Yellowstone once. Group was stopped for a herd on the trail. We were a ways back. Folks are playing duck duck goose basically around a few sleds because one of the bison was getting a little aggressive. That thing launched a 500lb machine onto its lid perty easily!
