Come back from the boat ramp and this was parked in our camp area. That's our site's fire ring.

Parking along the road is expected on a holiday weekend. But why bother with that? Pulling right in is easiest!

Nice!

Back from their boat ride. Asked them to move it. Campfire underway.

The sad thing to me here is that this issue has now taken up so much of your day at the Park, O.P....hope you're able to get some enjoyment out of whatever's left of it after this is resolved!

When did we get to the point where if you try to keep what is yours YOU become the bad guy? That is exactly the line of thinking that makes it alright for others who don't care to push the boundry and take what they can, even if it is just the use of your space (and yes, it is YOUR space, you paid for it and it is yours for the duration of time so rented as long as you abide by the contracted agreement.) The guy is a jerk for parking in his space and needs to move it or have it towed period.

If you are in a forest park, there is usually NO parking on the grass ever. Parking on asphalt/road surfaces only. If you are, call the ranger so this guy gets a ticket.

This is my first post here, but I have to comment as things are relative. Compared to the camping stories I have encountered recently, a car parked on your spot is nothing.

Last outing I was on, I was parked at a CG where my neighbor's spot is in the center of a long row of occupied pads. So, people would cut through inches from his fifth-wheel's slide in order to have a shortcut rather than drive to the end of the row. The CG owner saw the tire tracks, but dismissed them as them being there previously. Even when I showed video footage from my phone, the CG management said that it was a false accusation, and threatened both of us with being thrown out.

Outing before that, I was dry camping at a SP. Around 11:00 at night, I hear my generator turn on, and find my neighbor had multiple plugs into it. My generator was running the neighbor's outdoor entertainment center so his rug rats can play XBox. I stopped that party, and the neighbor tried to get in my face, claiming he was entitled to run my generator for his kid's "medical reasons". The fact my camping buddy who was with me has a CHP badge ended the situation by encouraging the neighbor to take their leave, which they did.

There are a bunch of us that go camping and aren't that fond of socializing. I deal with people for a living, not all that excited about spending my off time with folks I don't know.

Honestly, I don't camp to make friends... Ill give a smile and a friendly wave,,,, but I'm not a very nice person - and don't want to chit-chat.

I'd rather you (in general terms) stay the heck away from me. I like my peace and quiet. And it generally only involves me and my wife.

I admit, I'm the grump.

Because my interests are different than yours, I should stay home?

Wow. And people wonder why there are assaults at campgrounds. How about starting with a "hey, I'm not sure you realize it, but that area is actually part of my site-is it possible for you to move your vehicle?". Or even let them leave it on your site but ask them to move it so your beloved game is not disrupted. Maybe I can't see it all from the pics but my take is it looks like a vacant site, especially with the fire ring appearing to be so far away from your unit. If that doesn't work then a walk to the office politely explaining the situation and asking for help would be an idea. There's no need to make an inconvenience into a confrontation. With all the negative posts I see on here I swear half of you go looking for trouble!

No one in this thread has suggested violence of any kind.

No but several of the suggested solutions could easily escalate into a whole******load of violence if acted upon. ๐Ÿ˜„

What the owner of the car is doing is indeed inconsiderate or at best ignorant of campground etiquette. But then I've had to back out of roads that were blocked by folks parking their extra vehicles in the road and they "looked" to be experienced campers who should have been very aware of proper etiquette.

I think the real question is one of consideration of others, No matter what you rent for was personal use is it right and allowable for complete strangers to encroach without asking permission. Does it really matter what the renter has planned for that area. Would you share a motel room, time share, or anything else with complete strangers. What is the difference between a motel and a campsite. I welcome most snybody into my campsite but I do the inviting. Do we as a society expect this type of rude behavior as socially acceptable?

I'm just saying that there is no need to do something to harm the interloper's property. Most of these issues could be resolved by talking face to face without punishing the offender. It is easy to talk tough behind a keyboard and I assume that is most of what is going on here. I go camping to relax and enjoy myself. I try not to let others rent space inside my head making me crazy. I have found my life to be much more enjoyable since I came (recently)to that revelation. If you want to confront and punish, you may be right but I guarantee you will have a less enjoyable time on this planet we all have to share.
