I think maybe if you drive a motorhome at 70 you are safe, but pulling anything behind it is not safe.
So big a world, so little time to see.

Can't be, that would be trolling, and RV.net doesn't allow trolling.

Of course I should have realized that. Otherwise they would have locked this thread at 20K views. How silly of me.

DH is 85 I soon will be 83. We spent almost 20 years doing 5 or 6 week trips. We never went full time just not our thing. We are still at it only now we are back to camping again. We are in north west Indiana so we head up north in Michigan or down to southern Indiana at least once a season. You can usually find us at one of Indianaโ€™s state parks on holidays. We love all the noise and kids keeps us young. Our son in law says when we no longer want to drive but want to camp he will gladly get the unit to a site and back home for us. He and our daughter have class C and are often with us, now granddaughter and her family 2 kids (22 mos and 3- 3/4) have an old pop up and will be joining us in the spring. We are in good health and no real joint problems so we will do it til we canโ€™t.

But does he still drive them and do they have enough power to get him and others around him into trouble?

(Just kidding ๐Ÿ™‚ )

P.S. I was 70 when I last rode in a Shelby Cobra roadster replica ... it would have scared me to death at that age to be behind the wheel of that demon.

Dodge Guy maybe I didn't make my post clear. I was talking about my wife grading me on my driving each day in our travels on a scale of 1-10. One being worse and 10 being best. At the end of each day she will give me a grade of 1-10. When she gives me a grade of 5 I will quit driving. So far she feels safe with my driving and gives me grades of 8 or 9 and sometime a 7.

Sorry for the confusion.

I don't tow a trailer as I have a 29' class A by choice. Have owned for the last 18 years and I am 78. Used the class A to tow a small trailer to Colorado from Oregon last October. A friend of mine recently sold his unit like mine as he decided it was time to hang it up. At the time, he was 94. He did travel with his son who drove his own coach just incase he had a health issue while traveling.

It's the person and their abilities and not the age.

Since my last post, I have put another 14,000 miles on my coach. Been to the east coast and Ontario, Canada. On Saturday I am headed for CA and the LA auto show. See you on the road!

While there is a minimum-age requirement for becoming a truck driver โ€” in most cases, to be eligible for employment, you need to be at least 21 years old โ€” one of the great things about Professional Truck Driving is that there is no maximum-age cutoff point!

From an overall mile after mile, situation after situation, safety point of view I don't believe in a non-professional dragging a box behind to temporarily live in - at any age of the non-professional driver.

It's not about how one think's that their abilities are at any given point in time, it's about how close are they to the time that their body is more likely to surprise them and those around them with no warning ... regular medical checkups, results, and conclusions notwithstanding.
