Looking for old RV fridge repair in Boise, ID

I have a late 1970 travel trailer with a 2 way fridge that does fine on Propane but does not get cold enough when plugged in. I am trying to find someone in Boise, ID to take a look and let me know if there is any hope of repair. Does anyone have a recommendation for someone who is not afraid of working on an old fridge?

Highly recommend United RV Repair in Boise. We have all the maintenance on our unit done with them. United RV Repair link. They're up on Federal Way. Great couple of guys!

IF it does fine on Propane than the suspect is indeed the electric element.. That can be a 'Witch' To pull out (or not depending on the install but it is a fairly easy repair. Technically.. Just put in the same wattage

Other thigns that may affect

Any obstruction in the path from the outside lower panel to the upper panel (roof or top) on my Rig I'd put fans in outside and they blew crud up into the heat exchanger. When the unit failed (Different cause) there was a bit of fiber on the bottom of the heat exchanger.. Compressed air would have blown it back down no problem but we deleted the fan.

I did add a set of 3 fans inside (dometic) from RVCOOLINGUNIT warehouse dot com

These are designed to attach to the fins INSIDE the RV.. Mine "Eat" off the interior light circuit not fed out the drain tube since I have a Dometic I did not want to do it that way.

They help keep it "Defrosted" and so far are doing just fine.. I may move em to a different fin but they took 'er down like 5 degrees as they blew the frost off. (Well what was left of it)
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

after a semi "nicked" it. Still have the radios

Thanks all...I will see if I can find info on the fridge. Original owner seemed to keep all documents. I would still love any suggestions on possible repair techs in Boise. I winter my trailer in Boise at my parents house so would love the option of someone looking at it before I pick it up in May.

Google RV fridge repair in Blackfoot Idaho. I think it is Redline Refrideration You can take the unit out and ship it over. They advertise in the local thrifty nickel they can fix most RV fridges.

Hi,

Replace the electric element with one of a higher wattage.

The problem you will face is that with it being so old, finding a correct heating element may well be impossible. Whether a newer part will work will require some creative repair work.

Is it a "Traveler"?
They're pretty easy to replace the cooling unit it in - I had to do mine twice. :S

Can't help you on local tech but usually when fridge works OK on propane and not electric it's either a blown fuse - or defective heating element - or bad circuit board. First two s/b easy to determine without professional help.
