Just purchased our first 5th wheel. We need to get mirrors on the truck. Any information/advice will be much appreciated.

Moved to Towing forum from DIY.

Too funny, not being able to find the mirror. Thanks for everyone's responses. We ended up getting them from a place, I think, cakked "Truck Champ. Husband was please with how easy they were to install.

Ahhh remembering back to the days of strap-on mirrors ๐Ÿ˜ž

I listed them as #3 on my list of RVing nightmares.
Never did find the one that flew off on the freeway.
It probably landed on somebodies hood ๐Ÿ˜•

I started with a set of McKesh. One day of a rainy dirt road and the straps scrubbed the hell out of the paint. They now sit in the shed.

OEM clones. Ebay has a few. $175 for power/heat, $250 for power/heat/signal.

There you go! Nothing is going to look or function as good as the OEM style tow mirror. I have watched a lot of people in campgrounds with their clamp on tow mirrors and I can't understand why anybody would want to deal with that.

I have a set of clamp on given to me as a gift and use them every trip. They're really no big deal. Takes me less than 2 minutes to put them on or take them off.

I think they would be fine but personally I don't thing you can beat the OEM style towing mirrors.

If you want to hear what other people are saying about 1A's mirrors hop on over to ford-trucks.com. The 2008 Ford style mirror upgrade is probably the most popular upgrade 1A Auto has sold a lot of them there.

This was discussed this in the TV forum not long ago. My situation:

I've got the CIPA slip-ons, am reasonably satisisfied with 'em.

I'd really like to have the newer style like these:

Any decent quality available that'll fit the 1500HD?

Note the 1500HD is an '02. This style was not originally available on it.

So: Pauljdav, who sells the Chris Cam mirrors? I gooooogled them but didn't see any retailers.

Anybody else agree / disagree?

Any other good brands to recommend? Stock ones have power adjust & heat, like to retain these features. Power fold, retract, etc not important. After all, the truck ain't wired for it ๐Ÿ˜‰

I put these CIPA's on the Suburban. Link below is for eTrailer but you can find them cheaper. Be aware that GM changed the mirrors in 03. Mirrors that fit 00-02 will NOT fit 03-07.

I had McKesh for a while and they were excellent but got tired of taking them off/on. They seemed to get out of whack every time I took them off and needed to be re-adjusted.

Don't waste your time with the slip-ons, as tempting as the price is....

I bought towing mirrors for my ford from 1aauto. The quality is amazing power, signal, heat, manual fold/telescoping under. They have the silverado mirrors with the same for $361 shipped. I can't say enough positive about them.

I bought a set of these for my 97 GMC.

I sold the truck before I installed them so I gave them to a friend with the same kind of truck.

He loves them and uses them when towing his 5'ver.

They work like a champ and the nice thing is you can extend / retract them for the touch of a button on the drivers door.

They were a little pricey though....
