While reading my current edition of Motorhome magazine an advertisement in a article concerning these screen protectors states to remove the furnace screen before use?? Seriously? Misprint??

I just bought screen to do this job myself. However, I bought fiberglass screen. I'm now realizing that it may not be suited for such a hot application? Anyone know?

Air/fuel ratio, restriction? I guess maybe, unlikely when you consider the thousands in use without failure of the furnace. Burn when touching the screen? Heck ya, just like the burn you will get touching the metal plate that is on all external furnace vents. Our lives are blessed when it is these little things we can worry about.

Your so right! LOL Our son lives in Round Rock. Good Giant donuts! lol What a nice town!

I'm here with the majority, my screens were about the second add-on I bought, (Maxx Air Covers were the First), I haven't removed them since, with no problems, the only problem I see that can result from using them, You may, Will (burn yourself if you touch them when the furnace is in operation.

RV propane appliances (fridge, water heater, furnace) have very narrow air/fuel ratio (vent size, blower cfm) and therefore can be easily imbalanced.

Mfg. of these appliances state warnings about restricting air flow and use of 'screens'. This is a reality and a CYA.
Use of the screens CAN be restrictive----resulting in poor/no operation
AND
IF they do cause issues-------mfg. can point out warning about their use.

As with most stuff for RVs-------do you need it and does it work. Buyer Beware
Is it time for your medication or mine?

a doctor once told me once that all those warnings on all these products, medical or what ever, are to protect the manufactures back side in case something did happen

I've never removed mine, although the package had the same warning. The only reason I can think of, it's a liability issue. If your furnace is running and someone touches the screen and burn their finger and then try to sue the company they can come back and say it was your fault for the burnt finger because we instructed you to remove it when the furnace is running. Take your law suit somewhere else.

My furnace screen mounts behind the furnace cover plate on the outside over the trailer. I don't think I'm going to remove it and put it back on every time I use the furnace.

I've also stood by and watched mud daubers go right through the screens, and cleaned plenty of insect nests out of screen equipped appliances.

Like most everything else we come in contact with, there is some type of warning involved. My exterior covers warn against installing screens but I did anyway and have had no problems.

I have never removed mine and don't know of anyone who does. ๐Ÿ™‚

I've never taken mine off and have zero issues. Don't see how it would restrict any exhaust.
