That looks homemade. I had one back in in late 60’s it was slightly smaller. I bought it from the guy who built it. Since they are so similar, my guess is they were a kit.

My initial impression is that this may well end up being a complete tear down and rebuild, quite possibly involving new wooden framing, to do a proper job of fixing up. Your friend likely would be getting what amounts to a bunch of RV trailer parts and an old trailer frame to be able to build a new RV with; and I'm not at all convinced from the picture that any of them are in great shape to justify the price. It is, of course, very hard to tell for sure from a single exterior photo; but the rust on the tongue (mostly surface rust, it appears, but maybe not entirely) and what appears to be plywood in the windows does not exactly inspire confidence.
