Looking at various solar installs I find the posts under numerous categories. They are under tech, class A, class C, TT, DIY, to name a few and scattered all over the place.

Mods, Please create a dedicated sub forum dedicated to solar. There are tons of threads scattered throughout on this common subject.

No need, solar should be in Tech. Even is there was a dedicated section people would still post in the wrong area. Mods spend a lot of time moving threads that are in the wrong place.

There is no reason. Anything technical usually ends up in the Technology Corner or Tech Issues, and the link Westend posted will give you a LOT of information. Most of us that are published in that link are still here and can answer any additional questions for you.

exactly! NO reason to create a forum just for solar. it's not that common of an issue for most RV'ers.
that's like creating a forum just for converters. and there's WAY more discussions, questions and threads about converters.

We can cover yours right here. Where are you at and where are you looking to go with solar?

Since most folks seeking advice on solar are searching for answers to rather simple questions (at least in the technical aspects), a search window lists all the pertinent information across all of the Forum and therefore, a separate section for just solar doesn't make much sense, IMO.

If the administration followed the lead that the OP advises, there would be separate sections for converters, inverters, 12V systems, generators, etc. That is just too much organization.

Anyone wishing to find information about solar can post in the "Tech Issues" section of the Forum and there are many enthusiastic users of solar that can offer even the most minute details or links to where that information resides.

FYI, CA traveller has comprised a thread of Forum member's solar installations:Member's solar installations
