Has anyone tried the new Off Clip-On Mosquito repellant thingy?

We have the Thermocell repellents and they really do work. Just wondering about the Off Clip-On.

Slightly off-topic: if you hate the feel and smell of mosquito repellent: I've had good success using the "lemon oil and eucalyptus" spray. I find mine ("Repel" brand) on Amazon.com - it's kind of pricey, but a little goes a long way. As a kayaker and deep-woods camper, I needed *something* so I wasn't a pint low by the end of a paddle...LOL!!

We have used the OFF circular deal and it has worked fairly well. Two years ago we were coming out of West Yellowstone and got stopped in a construction zone while waiting for the pilot car to take us thru. We struck up a conversation with flagger working the zone and noticed he had the OFF circular thingy on his shirt. He said it worked for him, but also told us he doesn't buy the new pads for in it, he just sprayed the OFF from the spray can into it and it worked just as well, sort of like refreshing the pad. We have since then done likewise and have had good results.

Must have been a slow news day. Tiger skeeters have been on the east coast for years. Back then, West Nile was being attributed to them.

We use thermacell when conditions allow (no to light breese) and pace upwind when there is a light breeze. When it is to windy for thermacell to be effective, we have started using the DRY OFF spray which doesn't leaveus stinky or sticky.

They work well, if you are sitting still and it isn't windy. I don't really use anything for mosquitos, as they usually leave me alone and go for the wife and kids!

Just read the explanation of HOW they work and you can see the problem ๐Ÿ™‚ Surrounding the wearer with a film of protection sounds great provided the wearer isn't too active AND the breezes are light to non existent (or mosquitoes are nonexistent) ๐Ÿ™‚

Thermacell!! Have 2 of them. Boy Scout summer camp tested for 3 years in a row as well as Key West RV trip in August. The swarm that happens in the Keys during the summer after sundown can be really unnerving. The Thermacells worked to keep them at bay (under the awning) but you could see them 8~10 feet in front of you. No bites but it made us nervous so we went inside in the AC and watched TV.

Clip on thing didn't work for me. They just went to the opposite side of you and bit there! LOL. Maybe 4 of them clipped on you might do the trick!

Are these those kind with little fans or something that "circulate repellant"???

If so, is inhaling that stuff GOOD for you???

I use mosquito bait (DW) to lure them away from me.

I never need any repellant etc.

She tries all kinds of stuff, but none of it seems to work for her.

No doubt Deet works, but I don't like the sticky residue. Thermacell & OFF Clip on's work for us. ๐Ÿ™‚

Well, their mosquitoes must be a different breed than ours!!! I sat between two people that had them on, I had Deet on.....they were getting swarmed and the skeeters stayed away from me....... ๐Ÿ™‚
