Opinions about Propane fire pits

Hello everyone,

I am in the market for a portable fire pit (campfire). There are a few that look good and would like to get some feedback on anyone's opinion on these.

I want something that is compact and easy to pack away but gives good heat to stay warm on cool evening as we sit outside.

Here are the ones that look good to me in no particular order, let me know the good, the bad and the ugly on these. Some have lava rocks which seem they could get messy but spread the heat more evenly, and others have fake logs:

1. Camco 58041 Portable Propane Campfire

2. Camp chef fire pit

3. Big red campfire

4. Little red campfire

5. Campfire in a Can

Thanks for your input,

Stuart

Not trying to be mean, but how do you really have a thread about 5 different items? Of course every poster will recommend the one they bought. If you do a forum search for those different items you will find many previous conversations about each.

You need to determine the features that are important to you and then buy the closest one. They all use LPG and create flame and heat.

Although we don't have one of the specific brands you list, ours has lava rocks. They do a good job of radiating the heat once they get up to temperature.

Two RV neighbors bought the one at Lowes for $99. They work good. I am going to buy one but will order quick disconnect first so I can hook mine to MH propane tank. Looks like regulator can be easily removed and replaced with quick disconnect so it can be used either way. With tank as sold or with Camco disconnect for MH connection. I'm impressed.
