I am to understand “Santa” is bringing me a new compact fridge for Christmas because I have been such a handy helpmate.:W I have no idea what unit to ask for. What make/model has this RV.net group had the best results/experience with?

I have been very happy with my ARB fridge/freezer. Runs on 12V or 120V. Very high quality Danfoss compressor. Extremely robust design for rough outdoor travel. Mine has been bounced around in the back of Jeeps and pickup trucks offroad for more than 10,000 miles now in everything from 110* deserts to -20* cold, through literal sand storms and rain, all without a hiccup or complaint.

Using the cf 80. CF = cool freeze. Gave our portable ice maker away. We are full timers and it really is nice for keeping drinks and extras cold cold cold. It cools amazingly fast and runs on 12 volts or 110 and our inverter runs it fine too.

I have the Dometic Cool Freeze CF35 and it is one of the better investments I made. No more water and melting ice in coolers for me and my beer/pop is always at a refreshing 33 degrees. I like the size as it has handles to carry it and fits nicely in the compartment without a sliding tray. It holds 41 12oz cans and I have had it now for about 3 years.

Those are a perfect size for a portable. I have two; one as freezer and one as fridge.

Watch for sales on CW's online store.

The Dometic cool freeze CF50 are nice but very expensive. We use ours as a deep freeze for our month at a time out. This last month we used for the first time our compact refer for outside while camp hosting. Combined with the ice maker we had plenty of space for drinks. We had them sitting on the patio and they were very handy.
I bought both items from Compact Appliances online. Reasonable prices and fast free shipping.
