Replaced 1 tire but should I do all 4

We had a Maxxis tire losing air on our trip over spring break. Thanks to the TPMS I was alerted to it and was able to pull over and put the spare on. I have Maxxis 8008 LR E tires and due to availability and the fact we were heading on spring break I purchased and had a GY Endurance LR E installed. Plus I liked the stiffer sidewall and speed rating of the GY.

I had the Maxxis installed on 6/30/2015 and we probably have about 20k miles on them.

My question is should I replace the other 3 Maxxis tires now with GY tires to keep them the same brand and age. My plan was to replace all 4 next spring before camping season but that may need to change. Or should I just run the 3 Maxxis and 1 GY Endurance for this season and replace the 3 Maxxis next spring? We do about 7k towing miles per year. tks

Knowing how much damage a tire failure does to a trailer if and when it does occur, my vote would be to replace the other three tires and run on a matched set of new Goodyear tires.

Since you described the tire failure as tread separation and you like the new tire better, I would replace all the old tires, especially since you planned to replace them next year anyway.

I was not concerned about the reason for failure in asking my question. My question was should I replace the other 3 now since I just put a new tire on or is it perfectly fine to run the 3 Maxxis the rest of the season and replace those 3 Maxxis next spring which was my plan(to replace all 4 Maxxis next spring anyways). One poster did say he preferred to do this as he likes all new rubber at the same time but is that a preference or really something that in the real world should always be done.

How can anyone answer your question? You'll have to make your own judgement, just as I did. Do you feel "lucky", or not? :W

Wow,what helpful replies. I was on a 12 hour trip to Disney with family and tire lost air on I-81 1 hour into trip. Tire tread appeared to be separating on the back side of tire and air was leaking out. Answers why I did not plug it!

My spare is a MAxxis 8008 that was put on new at same tire other tires were installed so no use other than the 400 miles I drove on it to the tire store to put the GY on the original rim and put spare back on the bumper.

Anyone care to answer the replace the other 3 now or wait question vs. speculation as to what I should or could have done comments

How are we to answer not knowing the situation? If you got a nail in a tire, are we to say throw all of them out?

Now that the tire has been proved to be junk, perhaps the rest are as well.

Separation? I would replace the rest now. Including the spare.

Did same a year ago.

BTW I have seen at least two pictures of spares separate that had never been on the ground. Don't need overuse or abuse to trigger a defective tire.

Replace four next Spring as scheduled if you like. Keep the single Goodyear Endurance as the spare.

I had one MAXXIS with the tread coming off just short of four years old.

To what advantage? The OP already said he had been planning to replace all 4 tires at the beginning of next season so by doing this now he's just advancing his sked by a year, not saving anything.

x3 was it a nail, bad stem etc it would depend on why it was leaking ,I,m not afraid to run a tire that was plugged from the inside out.

I was just going to ask what caused the problem.

At 3 years old they shouldn't be aged out. I would be concerned if you had a tire failure on the road and all the weight on one side of the trailer was carried on one tire for any distance. This would overload the other tire. Personally I replace 4 tires at a time for peace of mind. I just put on a new set of Goodyear Endurance load range E on my TT.
