Sold RV and toad

We just completed the sale of our class A motorhome and Jeep Cherokee toad. We may buy a small travel trailer in the future, but no definite plans at the moment

Age and concerns about fuel costs and availability drove us this direction. We may travel in cgโ€™s that have cabins in the future. Limiting, true, but an option nonetheless.

I have altered my signature accordingly.

That last post is doomed to be eliminated - cost of fuel a reason to throw in the towel ?

Why are fuel prices a reason? Prices go up they go down, just depends on the "crisis of the week".
Fuel prices are the last reason I would give up this lifestye.

Last few years we only used our fifth wheel for only our winter stay in AZ. I left it down there and will have to find someone to tow it to our lot.

As we travel down life's path, we have to make changes according to current situations. I just sold my tow vehicle and got a SUV, which will not pull my 23' travel trailer. I only got out 5 days last March, trailer has sat all the rest of the year due to my health. Can't see next year will be much better, so equity in truck was needed for other things. I hope to get a small Class C, go toadless and much smaller trips. I live in my travel trailer full-time, so still got a foot in the RV lifestyle.

We are well aware of your feelings. We started downsizing shortly after retirement. Went from MH to 5th wheel to 23 ft to 19 ft to 16 ft. Sold toad then sold diesel truck then sold full size truck. Now we have a 16 ft Airstream with a Toyota tacoma as a TV. We just finished a 3500 mile 19 day trip. This is the longest trip with this rig. We do tend to take shorter trips but more often. Fuel is not the current issue but age and health are.

I know your feelings- I recently sold my 5th wheel and tow vehicle. We had to quit travelling due to health reasons. If circumstances change we will get a smaller trailer and tow vehicle.

Well, best of luck to ya George and Lesley. That age thing will happen to all of us at some point.
On one hand, I'm sure it will provide more interesting and more easy going aspects to trips if you're not dealing with a RV and toad.
He!!, I could make a case for that now and I aint hit 50 yet!
Its waaay easier to throw a couple duffle bags, bag o snacks and a cooler of beer in the car or truck and hit the road, knowing there's a turned down bed and clean chitter waiting for you somewhere at the end of the day then it is to do all things RV related!
