Recent review of Lazy Days RV Park in Florida has the park getting a 1 out of 10. Reason, the reviewer broke their ankle.
Did they break their ankle because the park had carelessly left equipment laying around? No. Was the park at fault because a walkway, stairs or piece of recreational equipment failed? No. Was the floors in the office, store, laundry or bathhouses wet and slick from a spill? Nyet.
The failure of the park...Leaves on a hill BEHIND the reviewer's RV. The reviewer gave no reason why they felt they had to be climbing on the hill, but they apparently felt it was the park's fault that either the hill was there or that their trees drop leaves. And people wonder why there has to be signs everywhere warning people if you do something stupid you might get hurt.

I have seen that happen.. Friends of mine got sued They had a Tent set up and when the wind came up a bit more than they trusted the tent they took it down. A family stopped to watch, instead of help. got injured with a piece got away from the tent owners. Family sued both the tent owners and the park.

I know they lost with respect to the park. Do not know about the tent owner. He died and the Shes have not returned to the park.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

This is why I don't, won't eat at a picnic table in a campsite. You just never know what took place before you arrived. If you need to use the table my best advice is to thoroughly {Chlorox and lots of it} clean it and add a plastic tablecloth.

For the record every time I have seen this nonsense I've gone over and complained/explained why it is just so wrong... usually getting the deer in the headlights stare for my trouble. Arrrrg!

:M

I'd better not let DW hear about this. She has a nursing degree and is a real germaphobe. But we may bring an extra folding table from now on.

I believe that the signs are put up at both ends so everyone knows about the damage then the people who read the signs go on line and let the rest of the world know about the guard rail problem.it is a very good way to get the word out for just the cost of a few signs.

Nothing new. Our schools and colleges have been teaching people for a generation to blame someone else for every stupid thing they do. Spill coffee, it's McDonalds fault. Trip while walking and texting, who put that curb there, it's always someone else's fault. And the lawyers tell them to look for the deepest pocket.

Please give it a rest with the fake, "McDonald's coffee suit" garbage. The case involved an elderly woman who spent over a week in a hospital having SKIN GRAFTS done to her crotch and thighs, due to insanely hot coffee served by McDonalds. She then spent the next two years dealing with the follow-up care to recover from her severe injuries. McDonalds said no to any reasonable requests for compensation for her medical care, said no to a very reasonable arbitrator's ruling, and refused to agree to serve coffee at a safe temperature. The multi-million dollar award was a message from the jury, and later reduced to far less than a million, or three times what they would of paid, if they weren't being jerks in the first place. There is a time and place for litigation, and in some cases it's the only thing a corporate entity will pay attention to. Corporations have repeatedly been show to place a dollar value on your life and well being, when deciding if harming you is profitable. Some of them have little concern for either (like the wholesale distributors who created the Opioid crisis, Takana air bag, Wells-Fargo, etc...) and only come around when they are end up with a few massive litigation losses.

You are correct on the McDonalds facts. They intentionally made coffee to hot to drink.

Guys camping next to us using a .22 to shoot beer cans lined up on their picnic table.
Argued with police that there were no posted signs prohibiting what they were doing.

Speaking of picnic tables...

My favorite {and there have been several} are the folks that disconnect their sewer hose and lay it on the picnic table. Seriously! :S

.... or let their dogs walk or scoot on it.

Don't they realize that people enjoy eating at the table?

I have seen a similar review about a local pub. Someone who was here during SXSW got inebriated, tripped, and broke some ribs, then gave the place a 1/5.

if it was a hill and leaves and NO other situation at all...then I must put this under 'incredibly stupid' to take it out on the cg. Either with a lot of concern from them or not.

own up to your own responsibility in certain situations. A 1 for the above? I am ashamed that 'whatever' review site that published this review actually passed that into a posted review. Another lack of smarts if you ask me.

Whenever someone joins a site and has just a single, negative review, I canโ€™t help suspecting that internet retaliation is the motivation. Money often is involved, and in this case, the additional costs of their stay are mentioned in the review.
