The buyers market

Comparing the predictions in THIS ARTICLE to the chart below, it looks like RV shipments and sales are going back almost to the numbers during the 08 recession and right around the numbers from 23 years ago. Its surely transitioning to a buyers market, and those who purchased at the inflated prices the last few years are going to be in a world of poop. On a side note one of Forest Rivers largest divisions, Rockwood/Flagstaff, is shutting down all production for the entire month of July and the talk on the street is plenty of others will be following suit.

Stopped at Camping World to look at a couple 5th wheel floor plans. Everything was $20-$30K off MSRP. Still inflated pricing in my opinion, but headed in the right direction. Now if they can just figure out how to improve quality...

Here on the east coast its slowly turning to a buyers market.. Bro in law has been looking for a good, quality used fiver for a while, looked at 3, 2017 Vilano, 2017 CC, and a 2016 Redwood... The Vilano sellers were sticking to their guns, the CC folks were somewhat flexible, and the Redwood folks were more than flexible.

They landed on the Redwood with LOTS of options..

meanwhile, my buddy who runs a CW store in NJ stated that the used RV numbers they are giving to folks on trade units have dropped considerably over the last 30 days.

New Cars and Trucks are beginning to follow that trend as well ... but slower.
Most Auto Dealers do not want to believe it yet, so it's just happening slower.

Those exorbitant prices and added fees are disappearing.

โ€˜Bout timeโ€ฆ.even here in the $ inflated PNW itโ€™s getting better.
Hoping next year is the dealz.
Iโ€™ve already said F it and renting a camper for our trip this year. Happy I sold the toyhauler last fall for what I paid mid-pandemic.

I don't think anyone is surprised by this. The pandemic shifted modes of travel and thus demand for RV's went through the roof. Supply chains were challenged and folks were falling over themselves to pay more than MSRP and there were actual wait times. Manufacturers ramped up production and dealers went way overboard with orders. Fast forward to today, the market is completely saturated, folks are back to conventional travel and trying to dump their pandemic rv's and rates are up.

Haven't done any RV shopping lately but I would suspect it already is a buyers market. All dealer lots in the area are packed completely full of units. And have been for the last year or so. No surprise manufacturers would be cutting back.

Looks like a pattern. Figure out what other factors are involved - and you could have a great economic predictor!

Well, maybe...
