Things I have learned from these forums

Another thread got me thinking about all the important things I have learned from these forums that I otherwise never would have believed.
Here is a short list, feel free to pile on.

Dogs left in an RV NEVER bark.
Dog waste is completely sterile and clean
Tires made in China are specifically manufactured to kill the user
No matter what the price, the rent for an RV site is too high
Good Sam Roadside Assistance will never respond to a call
Camping World has never had a customer they didn't rip off
No matter what the price, you could have bought a better RV for Less
If you don't pay cash for your RV, you are a poor money manager
If a park enforces their rules, they are rule Nazis
There is no dog waste in parks because all owners pick it up
All tow vehicles are overloaded when their RV is attached
It's not camping if you don't have a fire
All campfires are nothing but smoky messes
If you drive faster than 20 MPH under the speed limit you aren't
smelling the roses

Things I have learned from these forums

Trucks carry weight determined by its GVWR.
ST tires are best for trailers.
Gotta' have a one ton to tow a trailer.
The 5th wheel pin bipod/tripod is somehow supposed to stabilize the whole trailer.
My dog doesn't bark.......anytime.
And the best is a 1/2 ton truck is just a grocery get'er and can't carry or pull a RV.

Absolutely everyone else in the campground is either setting up / breaking camp or hooking up the wrong way because they don't do it exactly like I do.

1) All ST tires are horribly bad. Not a good ST tire out there.
2) If you drive 66MPH for 30 sec's, your ST tires will explode.
3) All pet owners are perfect. And the opposite - all pet owners are horrible people who don't clean up after their pets, and leave their pet in the RV for an hour or two (Im a pet owner).
4) If you finance your RV, you just don't know how to manage your money. Think that was covered.
5) If you smoke, you will rot in hell, and hopefully you will die before you draw Social Security, so SS can remain solvent (Im an ex-smoker, not my quote tho).

And if you drive less than 5 over going up the grades you are a safety hazard.

Oh I know... if I didn't reserve my camp sites for the season at least a six months to year in advance, it's my fault for not planning far enough ahead. Everyone else knows exactly what they're doing a year from now down to the hour and can plan accordingly with perfect precision.

I know that is satire. But true as well. We reserve our beach site a year in advance, Because if we don't, we can't go. But the thing is. IF we decide to go else where, or something comes up. We can always cancel. Got to have options

What about the corollary to that - Everything the Government does/buys is needed, honest, forthright, and they never waste your money.

Every camper is an expert on everything, possibly just because they are campers and forum members, are never wrong, and if lots of people tell them they are wrong it's only because so many people are stupid.

If you don't use RV toilet paper, you'll end up with a giant ball of it in your tank.

(When I was new, the dealer threw in a 4 pack of it, and said to never use anything else, or it will be bad news.. "Ain't that right Phil?", where the other guy shook his head.. "Been there, done that." .. It wasn't until I learned on this site that septic-safe TP (and probably normal TP too) doesn't blow up my tank)

Can we go camping now?? ๐Ÿ™‚

I would like to but after reading these forums I found out that my 3/4 ton Ram with a gas motor will not be adequate to tow my TT. I should have spent another 8 grand for the Diesel.;)

Hallelujah, You have seen the light!!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Just make sure you turn that light out before you go to bed. :B
