We're planning a week trip to Holmes Co., Ohio and looking for things not to miss (or to miss). Not really interested in gawking at the Amish I grew up near them, and lived near Amish communities in several states.

I'm into woodworking and my wife is interested in quilting as hobbies. So far on the list:
- Miller's and Zinck's fabric stores
- Keim Lumber and Lehman Hardware
- Historic Roscoe Village and canal
- Warther Museum
- Coblentz Chocolates, Troyer Bologna, Guggisberg Cheese factories
- Downtown Berlin and Millersburg
- Holmes Co. Flea Market

If you really want to experience the Amish take your bicycles and venture out on the country roads.

Everything listed above plus, The Christmas Store halfway between Sugarcreek and Berlin. If you are traveling with children, Rolling Ridge Ranch is a stop where you can ride a wagon and feed many animals, water buffalo, zebras etc. Hershbergers on the way to Charm has animals kids can pet. Lehman's hardware is my favorite stop.

Your wife may enjoy Gramma Fannies Quilt Barn in Berlin, my wife goes there a lot. There are a couple of nice antique stores in Berlin also. I find Berlin to be mostly one big expensive craft shop. But living in this area, and having worked in Sugarcreek for over 10 years with lots of contact with the Amish, "Amish country" is not anything special to me. If you get a chance, stop in to Boyd Wurthmann Restaurant in Berlin for breakfast or lunch.

Charm, Millers Bakery (between Hershbergers and Charm),Wednesday is the Mt. Hope Auction, Thurs is Kidron Auction and flea market right across from Kidron Hardware (neat store) also one in Mt. Hope only littler, Guggisburg Cheese in Charm and Walnut Creek Cheese, sometimes cheaper than Berlin-Troyers. Warther Museum is really great. Been there a few times. They also manufacture knives there.
Good Luck, we will be there this weekend. Happy Camping
