Tire recommendations for a 2013 Ram 1500

I'm looking to replace the P rated tires on my truck and jump up to a real light truck tire. Could anyone give me some recommendations on tires? I've been looking at the new Nitto Terra Grappler G2 as well as the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor Pro. My truck is equipped with 275/60 R20. I know with the LT tires I will have to jump up a sidewall size. My truck also has the Ram air suspension as well.

I put Michelin LT/MS tires on my Ford 285/70/18 they have a great ride and a great advertised life. I have a heavey 1/2 ton and tow pretty heavy with it. These tires are great IMO.

EDIT: I see you were looking for LT. Go look at discount-tire outlets ebay store. This same deal will work on the cooper zeon LTZs too, the coupon is $100 off $400 so play with quantities.

In any case, you can rig a similar discount on many tires.

Here you go. I have the same truck.

Bridgestone revo 2 AT tires in 275/60/r20 -- 4 for $720 installed -- likely no sales tax too.

Here's how you get it:

$936 for the tires
- $200 coupon
- $70 rebate
~$650 for 4
Wal-mart will mount and balance for $14 a corner.
$720 installed.

$468 for two.

Then send in this rebate for another $70 back:

I have the wrangler Duratracs. LT265/70/17 I like them, the fan books aren't crazy about them as they do nothing really great but are adequate for my use. Forest service roads,4 or 5 inches of muddy road and snow tire use.
I have a 5.7 4x4 Quad cab Express. I went for pretty much a stripped model so I could gain payload. My sticker shows 1427.
I also did not like the chrome like clad 20" ghetto wheels that were on it. I traded in a '12 SLT that had 17" wheels so I had the dealer switch wheels.
I know I am the odd duck out but I just prefer the smaller wheels.

@pitch. Thanks for the info. What model Ram do you have? Which wranglers are you running? Do you see a problem running the E rated tire on a 1500? I have looked for a tire with a decent tread pattern in a D and C rating but haven't had much luck. I'm really just plain tired of the sidewall flex in the P rated wrangler on the truck and they are worn out at 30k!

Just remember that you do not need to buy an "E" tire. Your truck cannot take advantage of their capabilities and running them at the recommended 50 lbs is not conducive to long term use. Buy load range "C", your dealer will probably need to order them in,but most good shops if they order early morning will get them same day or at the latest next. I have wranglers on my '13 Ram, they have been a good tire, I have close to 30k with about 10k towing, on them and they are wearing evenly and will make their advertised 60k.

Thanks folks! I really appreciate the info! I though picking new tires for my old Mustang was hard when they stopped making the Gatorbacks, this is way harder!! Seems like every tire I research has conflicting reviews.

I had Terra Grapplers on my Tundra and was happy with them. Nice aggressive look without the harsh ride and noise of most AT tires. They rode smooth and as quiet as the stock P rated Michelins they replaced. I traded the truck after around 25k on them but they still looked new.

Only complaint is they liked to pick up rocks in the lugs and throw them at my trailer.

I had a set of the Nitto Terra Grappler LT's on my Ford Expedition that I traded in a couple of years ago and really liked them but didn't have them on but about a year. I traded for a new 2012 Silverado 1500 a couple of years ago and just as soon as the P tires crapped out I replaced them with Firestone TransForce AT LT tires last year and so far I really like them. I have a couple of buddy's running them and they love them.

I also like Goodyear tires but I don't like the Wrangler at all.

@grandpere Thank you very much!

@2oldman 2013 was the first year they put the air suspension in the Ram.

I didn't know that was offered in that year or for that truck.

If you are like me, Goodyears are great tires, but the Wranglers are a terrible tire. I had a set on my company truck years ago and the truck wandered and steered funny the whole time. When they wore out I replaced them with BF Goodrich All Terrain TAs. My son just put on a set of wranglers on his 96 F250 4x4 and he is having the same problems I had with them 20 years ago. He is so upset that he going to replace them with other tires and sell them on Craig's list.

As for size, I see no problem with using the current size. If you go narrower (60 to 70 series) the tire will get taller, which is OK if you have room for them. I did a quick search for your tires in a LT type tire in a 275/60 R20 and they are plentiful, including my favorite BF Goodrich All Terrain TSs.
