Hi. Well, we have finally made up our mind that if we are driving from Virginia to Alaska this is the year. We have a slide in truck camper and want to go through the Yukon. We have been to Alaska 3 times but this is the first(and Last)time driving. Plan on leaving the week of July 10th and return date will be determined later.
Safe travels.

If you haven't already done so, you can check out a lot of useful info in the Canada and Alaska sub-forum here. There's a "roll call" thread for the year there, too.

Have a fun and safe trip. Remember, some of the campgrounds begin to close around the middle of September.

The trouble with going to The North is, you plan on doing it once. You do it. You then go back again & again if you can.

Why? It is not because of the variety of roads to drive. The choices are very limited to the point of no choice at all. You just go again & again. It is some invisible force pulling you north.

We loved our one and only RVing trip to Alaska in 2012. We are now thinking we may make a return trip in a few years.
Have fun.
