Water Hose Storage

Does anyone have any good ideas of how to store your water hose? We have always put it in a clean garbage bag, but I would like something that is clean and can be sealed that is dedicated just to our hoses. We have tried various size plastic boxes, but there is always too much wasted space in them to make them worthwhile.

Like others I always drain the hose and connect the ends together. I put the 3 drinking water hoses, 50', 25' and 10', in a bin along with a non-drinking water hose, electrical extension cords and a few other things. Never had a problem.

I quit using the brass 'Y"'s after i left one on the spigot. Now I carry two plastic one, havent left one since! :S

I seem to do better with things that cost a lot!

Expensive sunglasses last forever and finally wear them out. Cheap I loose right away.

I just toss in on top of the sewer hose, has worked so far...

Anyway, the real thing is like many, screw ends together and put in cheap plastic bin with cover. In the bin are 2-25 foot hoses, 1-10 foot hose, 2-25 feet cable tv wire, 90 degree water connection, water filter and probably a few washers and other things. A couple times a year a drain water or clean the bin some.

I coil it and let the water drain as I do so. Then screw the two ends together. Have never had a problem - except if it is too cold and the hose s hard to coil. I store it in the 'basement' with the electrical cord.

However you store your hose be sure to rinse it very well before connecting to your rig. Legonella can grow in an unused hose that has water left in it. You dont want to get Legonaires.

I don't use my white drinking water hose to operate my black tank flush, etc. but using quick connects makes it easier/faster to connect both ends of the hose together.

Humm,I guess I should check on screwing the ends together,but the problem with that is that I use quick disconnect on everything on the water panel. Both grey and black water rinsers have back flush valves,so I can just switch the hose end from one to the other.
What really ticks me off is spending the extra little bit of money for a no kink hose and have it kink up as you're uncoiling it for the first use.
One of my other pet peeves are the campgrounds that have pressure relief valves/back flush preventers on the spigots that blow water all over your feet when you're not expecting it.
