Tried out the Q for the first time yesterday. Very impressive indeed. It's just the right size for the two of us and not too heavy to move around.
I cooked two ribeyes and they came out perfect. Cleanup was easy.
I can see how low heat control could be a problem though. I'll find out when I try bake potatoes and roasted corn.

Had a Baby Q for several years now. Excellent little BBQ. Cons, like any single burner unit you can't do indirect cooking and the burner can't be turned down low enough to do real slow cooking. If you want to slow cook ribs for 3 hours, this isn't a good choice. Otherwise it's a great little machine

Mike...I really see no purpose with a lid thermometer. Been using our Weber Q for nearly 10 years now and have made out just fine without one.

Do they work well? (even heat, heat control)
Do they hold up to the test of time? (Burner clog, grill corrode, valve fail)
Are the small foldable side tables nice to have or don't get them?
How long does a 1lb bottle last?
Anything else?
We have the Weber Q 2000. The 1000 series was not large enough for us since we often cook for 4 to 6 people at a time.
It works well. The heavy grate does a wonderful job of heating evenly.
We have only had ours a couple of years, but it has held up fine so far.
The small foldable tables are very handy. I recommend them.
I can't talk about a 1 pound bottle, I hook mine to a 1 gallon (5 pound) tank with a hose.
You won't find a finer grill. We researched a lot before buying ours. In our reading, we read that the refillable tanks can have an oil in the propane that can plug up hoses/grills/regulators. I did not read that it was a problem with the Weber, but was a problem generally. To be safe, I bought this Mr. Heater Fuel Filter and installed it on the regulator. For $10, it is peace of mind.
Like frankdamp said, it is too tall to go in the basement with the lid attached. So far, I haven't gotten tired of removing the lid to store. We will see what time does to that. I figure it is the price I pay for having a grill large enough to cook for our group.
