What did you forget home on your last trip?

I'm leaving for 2 months next weekend. RV is all prepared and things we don't use day to day are inside.

I am now making my list of other things and checking it twice and then some more.

Apart from clothing and sport items there are a few cooking items we need to transfer when we leave. Also need to put as much of my tools as I can fit in a storage bin in the truck.

What are the things that you forgot? Chances are we all forget the same things.

Our rig is stocked with all of it's own goodies like a second home. All that we ever worry about is leaving behind medications, most everything else can be readily purchased on the road.

Forgetting medications is the biggest hassle. Always seems to be the thing that gets left behind.

I have a set of bedding in the rig, a set of dishes (fairly minimal, with paper plates and utensils), and a couple changes of clothing, and some basic long-lasting food/water containers. That way, should I forget absolutely -everything- (even my clothes), I won't be too bad off for a camping trip. I even have a tablet with 4G whose home is in the camper, so I have basic Internet access even if I forget my phone.

I have that for triathlon training and racing trips. Building the one for really long RV trips now. Longest I have gone is one night. Now going for 2 months!

Over the years we have created different lists for different types of trips. Once an item is either put into, or already found inside the rig or truck, It gets checked off. Makes the start of the trip a little less stressful and we're not worrying about what we forgot for the first hour or so on the road.

Nothing, just as I'm pulling away from the house I go about a foot and stop, then say go get anything you forgot now because I'm not turning back, works pretty good.

Last year one of us left a bag containing the fire poker, charcoal, grilling woods, an expensive suitcase containing a silly set of Fathers' Day type grilling utensils(dinna mind that disappearing..oops)and the Weber metal grill sitting in a Manhattan traffic lane at approx. 2:00 AM in the morning.

We were all surprised to discover that the doorman no longer saw it in front of the building at @ 2:00 PM when we reached the camp ground........

I had shorts. It was chilly at night which saved my legs from the bugs.

And the BBQ tools were in the Stick & Brick kitchen. I don't know how that happened over winter, but our first few trips were more mobile hotel trips. So, we didn't grill until last week. They are in there for this weekend, though.

I forgot my volt meter on this trip and sure enough I needed it. Microwave doesn't work and I don't know if it is the microwave or just no power getting to it. 5th wheel is only a year and a half old. I reset the breaker a couple of times but still not working. Will have to buy a new volt meter to see if there is any power to the plug.:(

My wife always said it was not an "official" camping trip unless we forgot something.

She once forgot the frying pan!!!

Well we keep our 5er full stocked year round less some semi perishable foods. So other than grabbing a fresh set of DVD's for the spots where we can't get satellite or antenna. We don't have much to forget, the dogs and their beds.

Same here, except I have a travel trailer and I can always manage to get a shot at the birds in the sky-- it's like a sport for me.

Ditto X10!

Once you get into this mind set it crosses over into just how much food you schlep with too and all the 'what if I need this' EXTRA cargo that adds to your CCC.

You'd be surprised how much you can lessen your overall weight.
When I was unloading my MH to ready for winterizing I was amazed of just how much weight I removed from the RV that was 'all' what if and extra food stuffs. Several tubs weighing a couple of hundred lbs....non of it went back into the MH the following season and didn't miss or need one bit of it! And if I did like above....it could all be bought at a local store.
