When the blackwater is full

When the blackwater is full - really full - would I see liquid right at the opening if I stepped on the foot lever on the toilet?

I also do the Sunday Dump, but if it gets full before Sunday it lets us know by it's burp.

Those gauge lights are...well...full of it. We dump. One light is on. Make one or two 'deposits' & four lights are on again. This after doing a procedure that puts a few gallons of water into the tank to slosh around after dumping.

We stopped getting frustrated by those stupid lights long ago. We simply do a minimum of three days between dumps & don't go more than seven.

They work, but I don't get much "resolution". 4 LED lights that indicate full are not that helpful when trying to determine if the tank is full - full.

Easy Peasy, when the third light lights up, dump the tanks. If the fourth light lights up, you are past due to dump.

You need to take a dump less often or dump your RV more often.

At least you're honest. We've stayed a week while dry camping and the first thing (fresh, gray, black) to limit out is the fresh water.

Most of them are notoriously incorrect anyways.

For me, the gauge is a guideline. Once it says it's 3/4 full, it's time to start considering emptying the tank. I don't need it to be exact - I don't push the capacity to the extent that it will mean overflowing.

yes but if you can see it it is probably over full.

I think you are on to my real question. I've been referring to "full-full" and I now know what I will be able to see when it is "scarey-full".

It will likely start โ€œburpingโ€ before it gets that full.
