RV Screen Door Protection

Hi there,

Our new Brittany puppy will be joining us in a few weeks. We haven't had a doggie for about 10 years, but when we did, he scratched at the screen door in the RV and did quite a bit of damage. I repaired the door, and screwed a piece of sheet plastic over the bottom of the door and we never had any more problems.

Do any of you use any kind of screen protectors on your doors to prevent damage? If so, can you provide the brand name or link to what you're using? Thanks much.

we did the same thing. Very simple to install and very simple to use and easy to store.

Go to any hardware store they stock a real nice plastic screen protector. Comes in white and brown. Screws on.

If you have an energetic dog, those open weave designer aluminum ones have too open a design and your dog will get it's paws in there and get stuck and ruin the screen in the process.

I have used the one from Camping World since it came out and it works well. Besides protecting from the dog it stiffens the door as well.

Places like Home Depot have sheets of plastic and they might even cut it for you. Screw it into place or use velcro.

Glad to see your post. We have a new pup after not having a little family member for 10 years also. I was thinking about a piece of lexan on the bottom half of the door, but wondering if there was an aftermarket product available.
