12 volt light fixture problem

I left a 2 bulb wall fixture on when I left the rig. When I returned, the fixture was off. I checked the bulbs in other fixtures, and both were burnt out. I attempted to replaced with new bulbs. With the push button switch still on, when I would insert the new bulb in either socket, the remaining lights on the circuit would fade to off. I removed the fixture from the wall, removed the switch and checked it and the fixture for continuity. Both were okay. I checked voltage on the line and it is okay. The fuse was not blown. All other light fixtures on the circuit work correctly. So, my question is, fixture or wiring or something else?

Is this a dual 12 volt light fixture?If yes I would also check the wiring as a bad connections can cause the dimming.

Both bulbs were burnt out when I returned. I confirmed that by trying each in another fixture. New bulbs are the same model #1141 bayonet
base. I tried both new bulbs in other fixtures, both worked. Hope additional info helps. Thanks for the replies.

I believe OP has the wrong lamps. When he installs the new lamp, it shorts the circuit together causing the other lights to dim, but not enough to cause the fuse to blow.

One bulb left on, then find ALL bulbs burned out?

A fundamental mistake is being made here. You need to check VOLTAGE across the lamp feed wires at the same time all lamps are switched on. These symptoms do not jibe.

Some 12v and 120v bulbs look the same. Make sure they are 12v first.
Try 2 different bulbs, one could be defective.

Wrong style of lamp!
Look in the socket see if it has one or two small round contacts. Compare it to the new lamps.
