50 amp RV plug

I would like to put a 50 amp rv plug on the garage. I would like to see a wiring diagram for that. Any one have one?

Just a side note. If you ever get an electric vehicle this will serve you well as many of the EVSE's for home charging are equipped with a 14-50 male plug.

The run will be less than 10 ft. The run will be out the bottom of the breaker box, along the side wall till I get to a good stud, through the wall to a 50 amp rv outside weatherproof box. I all ready have the box.

Fifty amp protected by 50 amp breaker needs #6 wire.

I used #6 for mine, a 35 ft run. Was most likely overkill, but I had it on hand. I believe #8 would have been sufficient. No way #12 like that calculator said.

It seems that the only thing it's taking into account is the 3% voltage drop, and not any sort of code minimum size requirements or ampacity limits or many other practical concerns. It's not a very useful calculator for many circumstances.

A fifty amp RV receptacle is the same as a four wire range receptacle

Make sure to use a weatherproof enclosure if you put the outlet outside.

EDIT: You can buy the same pedestal that you see at campgrounds for about $150. That includes the 50A, 30A and 20A outlets with the individual disconnect breakers.
