Almost too lazy to get up on the roof.

So last two days were pretty nice in ne Ohio. I power washed camper, winterized, and I almost passed on climbing up to inspect the roof. I found some small cuts in the rubber, and some cracks and holes in some parts of the caulking around couple skylights. Spent 10$ on a tube of dicor and saved who knows how much if ignored till spring.

Just a fast fraidy-cat note...
Please be careful. Quicksilver has a heavy wall tube ladder. I purchased a stainless steel bathroom wall grip bar and placed it transversely across the roof for something substantial to hang on to and it works like a charm.

Had an A/C fail a few months back,,, Finally got the new one installed I think last week (or the week before).. just in time to turn on the heaters at night ๐Ÿ™‚

In running up/down the ladder I found the roof was getting kind of gray so I took ye old mop (Van Wash Brush) bucket, Garden hose/sprayer and Spic& Span and got to it. Nice and eye searing white now.

Some minor cracking of 11 year old caulking will be professionally fixed next Summer when I get back to my favorite RV Girl (That's the license plate on her mobile Technician Van) I know how to do it but she will do a better (neater) job and my physical condition is not so great. I did some temp work on the worst of it.

I like to mop 2x a year less it needs a 3rd.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

Anyone thinking about skipping this step in winterizing better think again. Every year I have owned my trailer I have found SOMETHING involving loose calking and potential leaks. I have some delam on my front panel because I could not find a small pin hole evidently caused by a rock strike. Close scrutiny is called for when inspecting seams and fix even the smallest flaw you find.

The older you get, the harder it is to get up "there." I lost ALL motivation for going on the roof a couple years ago. To do so now takes every ounce of energy and will power I've got now. And I REALLY have to be in the right frame of mind. It use to be kind of fun, but now ... it's just work! Getting older sucks!
