I just won this kit new in box from an auction sight unseen for $70. Is this a good kit? we don't dry camp much other than the race track and need somthing to help keep the batts charged.

Our 100 watt Renogy flat mounted on the roof works great, providing all the electricity we need.

The battery is a CR1220.They do not come with one,you have to supply your own.

As I said before the cables were to short for me so I replaced them with These

I ordered them from Renogy,it was a bit cheaper and free shipping.

If you have any questions, give them a call, their staff is very helpful.

After checking it everything looks great except for the Negative MC cable has a short (Gonna look up how to replace it) and it is slightly touchy.

As an aside does anyone know what size button cell the controller takes for it's memory? the one was missing from this one.

Awesome deal! I've had that set-up about 3 or 4 years. Just spent 4 nights dry camping in Maine - never ran the genny once - 2 house batteries - nice sunny days kept everything topped off the entire time. Like others I created an extension cord to move the panels to follow the sun. No regrets on my part. ST

It's no longer called a nursing home.

Those that mounted a single 100W flat on the roof, have lost their drivers licenses and are resting in nursing homes by now.

Rarely somebody mounts less than 300W these days. 2*250W or 3*250W are common. Though this is some work.

Excellent kit, prewired, just connect to batt, no wire cutting, stripping, crimpint tools, or adding fuse/switch. Connect/program point to sun and enjoy. All in one, no waiting on various vendors to send components.

you'll harvest more than those that mount 100w flat on a roof.

keeps a battery happy year round!

It sells for a lot more money than you paid, so "deal" is good :)...

As to the kit itself - from 100W solar you can't expect much.

On a sunny day it will harvest enough to run a few lights, pump and DC circuit of propane fridge. So, if you don't use more devices - and if it's sunny all day - it will keep battery charged.

You really got a deal....I like mine and it is easy to use.

The only problem is that the wires are to short and it comes with no instructions, some sort of green thing. To get a printed copy just call them or download them.I got a paper copy in 2 days.

The wires are about 10 FT. the older ones had longer wires. I made up a longer set using larger wire, works just great.

Here is what others have done
