Landing gear motor movement

Hi,

While working in the front compartment I just noticed that when moving the landing gear up or down the drive motor rises and drops about 1/4 to maybe 3/8ths of an inch?

I don't hear any strange noises or anything....

To be honest I never noticed it before because its rare that I would have the compartment door open while adjusting the landing gear.

Is this normal? I'm hoping its normal the last thing I need now is another project 🙂

Op back,

I'll check for those tabs, I'm certain they are there because the motor assembly doesn't spin one way or the other very, much its more of an up and down motion.

Look at how the motor is attached to reduction gear box connected to landing gear.

It is not a 'fixed' assembly.

Normal movement due to design.
Is it time for your medication or mine?

As others said, there is some play but there are mounting bolts which may be loose. Mine were a bit loose and tightening helped. But in my rig it was a bear to get to the bolts as I had to crawl thru the basement to get to the motor.:E

I suspect your motor broke one of the locating tabs off. Yes they wobble some, maybe an eighth of an inch. Mine did that a couple years ago. Replacement gear boxes are not expensive. If your landing gear is made by Venture Mfg, call them directly. Great people to work with and reasonable prices, fast service.

That is normal. The motor wobbles a lot when being operated.
