Multiple switches for water pump

My water pump currently has one on-off switch. I would like to be able to turn it on-off from several different spots on the TT. What would be the easiest way to accomplish this?

There are two ways..

One is to run a latching relay as someone up-thread suggested, This means replacing the switch with a 3=position switch, spring return to center, Depending on teh latching relay will determine the switch but a common one I know of you apply power one way to "CLOSE" and another way to "OPEN" This is the kind you need. This would require running 3 wire cable to each switch SPDT Spring return to center (ON)off(ON). switch. (The prens around (ON) mean momentary).

Option 2 is to use multi-way house switches, Basically the hookup is like this

Original

Fuse---switch---pump

new

Fuse---Switch #1======Switch#2======Switch#3====Last switch----Pump

Note the two wires between the switches

not also that though the 1st and last switches are common 3-way switches, teh two I put in the middle are hen's teath,, (hard to find) you may have to special order those.

A lot of trouble for what I would seem to see as a non-problem. The water pump should have a pressure switch that shuts it off when there is no demand for water. If it doesn't there is likely something wrong with the pump. We have a ice maker in out refer and that requires that the pump is always on when not hooked up to shore water or it screws up the ice maker.

Intellitec water pump controller-each switch is momentary to ground, so only a single wire is needed to each switch.

You can parallel as many switches as you want. The only problem is you will have to cut OFF the one you used to initially cut it ON with.
I see no advantage to multiple switches.

You will need to install a latching relay. You will also have to change out your current on/off switch to a momentary on style. With the relay, you push the switch to turn on power to the pump and then you push it again to turn it off. Your second switch location will also have to be a momentary. Wired correctly, you can turn the pump on at one location and turn it off at the other or vice versa

no easy way to duplicate/triplicate switching if you want switches to work like two way or three way in a house. not so hard if you are willing to just add additional switch wires and run them to various locations each to work independently.

Leave the pump on while using the TT, and not hooked to city water. It does not run unless you open a faucet.
