My truck camper has an intermittent power out issue-
that may be a short or caused by rain???

All was fine then post big rain all 3 interior
(Bed area, dinette & bathroom) Outlets
Turned off.

The microwave outlet is aok. The kitchen gfci
( only gfci in camper) is working & the exterior
City side outlets work.

This is a 2003 Bigfoot 2500 truck camper.

Any ideas on how I might trouble shoot appreciated.

Are you plugged in? If so, are both legs of power good from the box?
It's a camper so I doubt it's 50A.

I'd suggest to check for moisture in the exterior receptacle. It may be protected by the GFCI inside the camper. Some RV's come equipped with a separate GFCI for the exterior circuits (typical).

Are you saying that the exterior plug is working
because it is protected by the interior
GFCI but the other 3 interior plugs are
failing due to exterior mosisture?

FYI- I have a bizarre leak which puddles water
In a corner of the camper - across from frig
And next to dinette- have yet to discover
where the water is coming from & only occurs
when the camper is set a specific angle. ( on and off my
Truck )

Not only are they not reliable for connection, but when moisture gets on contacts the wire oxidizes.
Many RVs have thin wall construction making it difficult in many cases to install standard receptacles.

enblethen,

And the stab connectors are not reliable nor do most folks recommend them for heavy loads. I replaced all but one in my RV.

RV receptacle normally have a piercing style connection in the back. The back portion of the receptacle needs to be pushed very hard to snap into a locking position. Donn128 is suggesting to remove receptacles and insure proper connection.
I would look at the outside receptacle to make sure it is sealed from getting exposed to moisture.

Your positive you have only one GFCI? Start at the breakers, flip them off and back on. Then start at the first dead outlet and open it up. Using your VOM check for voltage. Yea? Move on. Nay, start looking for loose wire. My guess your going to find a loose push on connection. If so, replace with a regular screw terminal outlet.

What’s a “loose push” ? What’s a “screw terminal outlet”?
I don’t have VOM... will go get if I need to..

Check those outlets carefully again, especially the one in the bathroom. That one is typically a GFCI. Also check your breaker panel, the breaker serving those outlets could also be a GFCI.

Only one gfci in camper... it’s in kitchen
area... when it’s very wet & rainy it
Pops off often... otherwise aok.
