Pendant for 9200 PD Converter

Last winter I think, I replaced my old and failing PD converter from 1989 to a 9200. The shop I purchased from included all the cables and schematics for swapping them out. The guy who I dealt with said it wasn't necessary to install the pendant and I didn't. Actually I forgot to install it and as soon as I started charging the batteries, I missed the indicator light.

We are currently dry camping with no water, sewer or electrical and I decided that I would remove the distribution panels and housing and then hook up the pendant. It was easier this time and while my DW drove home (3 to 3.5 hours to get some stuff for a party we're having tomorrow) I pulled the panel and converter, installed the pendant and reinstalled the converter and panel.

The pendant shows the level of charge by a solid, slow flashing or rapid flashing of the LED. That is what it is supposed to do. I can change the rate of charge buy holding down the button and all.

My question is, should the LED be lit all the time, even when the generator is not running? I don't have the paper work from PD with me and our Wi-Fi is very limited so I don't want to download the manual from PD.

When not plugged into AC, the light tells you battery voltage as follows:

Fast blink (many times a second) above 12.77v
Slow blink (1 -2 times per second) 11.95v - 12.7v
The light will go solid around 11.9v

When unplugged the Wizard is monitoring the battery and the light remains active.

Thanks for the replies and the link to the manual, I have used the generator twice since I installed the pendant and both times it has had a steady light. I will run it for a while tomorrow and I will check the voltage. I have brand new batteries and they were fully charged when we came up here last Friday. I hope all is well. I'll post results of voltage readings tomorrow or the next day.

yes, even when not connected to power, the pendent will be lit. (at least it is on all three of my PD converters) depending on battery voltage it may be flashing or on solid.

With no shore power, or generator, my pendant light stays on in what ever mode it happened to be in until I disconnect the battery bank.

This is from the PD 9200 manual:

While the built-in Charge Wizard automatically determines which
operating mode is best suited to recharge or maintain optimum battery
condition, the Remote Pendant allows for manual override and has an
indicator light to indicate the mode of operation:

Light “ON”
– Indicates the converter is in the Boost Mode and the output
voltage is 14.4 to rapidly recharge the battery up to 90% of
full charge.

Light Blinks Rapidly (every 2-3 seconds)
– Indicates the converter is in the Normal Mode and the output
voltage is 13.6. In this mode the converter is safely completing
the charge of the battery.

Light Blinks Slowly (every 5-6 seconds)
– Indicates the converter is in the Storage Mode and the output
voltage has been lowered to 13.2. In this mode the RV battery is
fully charged and the converter is maintaining the charge.

If by "pendant" you mean the charge wizard for the Progressive Dynamics converter, then, yes, it will always blink to show the charging stage it is currently producing.
