zeb vs UV

Good afternoon.
Seeing the zeb floor sealer has 5 million threads and pulled lots of attention on shining up rv's. What worries me and the reason I won't try it as of yet is It has no UV protection.

My Question is, Won't outdoor patio sealer do the same thing and will be UV resistant? Anyone try that? like a water based sealant like "clear-seal" from depot. I use that stuff on my walks and patios and it is amazing how shiny it is and holds up well even with shoveling snow and ice.

Just always wondered if I should do a science experiment.

My Zep coating started to crystalize after being in the Sun for a year. It was hard to get off and required some scrubbing with stripper. I ended up painting it.

From experience the red max pro #3 is a tough job to remove. I will not recommend using Zep or red max pro #3 if it is still on the market. Doing a couple of poli glow applications at this time. No more waxing for this 75 year old youngster.

well from these "testimonials" I am pleased with my decision to deep 6 the stuff. might be great to put a coat on if you are trying to sell a unit however.

mine never yellowed but the side facing the sun has signs of going bad after one year. So I did the whole 5er in 303 Aerospace Protectant and hope that will help to give it some UV protection. Will keep an eye on it.

Mine didn't, and wasn't. After several years of not doing the refresher coat as suggested, I decided to strip what was left from the front cap and do again. Old stuff came off with the BK Friend, 4 new costs have it looking great again. After stripping the old off, the original cap color was identical to the side with the old Zep (actually Red Max Pro). I was surprised it hadn't yellowed at all. Was actually easier than I had anticipated.

Poliglow will eventually fail as well. Yellows and cracks. It works great for bringing back very neglected gel coat but if your unit has just some mild oxidation I would not use it.

It will breathe new life into a basket case though.

Zep/Red Max Pro looks great after you put it on but reportedly will yellow after a few years and is difficult to remove. Recommendations are to use Poli-Glow instead as it has UV protection as well and reportedly wont yellow. This is what I have read. No first hand experience.

I bought some, considered using it, read the troubles removing the old, and still have a jug someplace.

I vote for the science experiment. Just do a small section and see how it works.

I always tell people to do the Zep/Red Max Pro process and then use the wax of their choice. Preping the surface is the critical part of the process.

my Zep only lasted about 3 yrs. then I redid it, wonder if 303 Aerospace Protectant would work and be uv protection
