Not at all! Remember this is on a F550 so the parts are even bigger than most trucks and you need a lift that can accommodate something approx. 30 feet long and around 19,000+ pounds.
I believe the shop book time for this work was for 10 hours and they discounted my hourly rate too, because I am so nice and good looking! :B
EDIT: Also it should be noted that I am not able to take my truck to a Ford Dealership or a typical Brake Shop due to it's size, 30 feet long, 12'6" Tall and combined weight of truck and Camper is approx. 19,000 pounds. Basically it can only go to a shop for Large Trucks like Semi Trucks or Garbage Truck size. You are not going to find this capability in every town you travel through. Or at least I don't.

There was a F350 in the shop getting some spring work done and it and my truck are worlds apart in it's undercarriage.
My mechanic said my F450 was going to be more than a F350 which implies that the F550 would be high as well. I'm not sure why it's that much harder, but he thinks it will be hours more than a normal change with me supplying the parts. Of course, my wife might have misunderstood since she takes it to the mechanic due to logistics and hours I work.

But ask him if he would do this while you guys are on a trip in your Pickup and Truck Camper, then on top of that living in it and where would he get the parts and tools to accomplish this. Welcome to the world I live in with no driveway or garage to work in. As the photo below demonstrates when I was doing a recent DIY on the road.
Brian,
I hear your pain on the brake bill. We priced it out and my husband decided he could do it...and he did. After doing the front, decided what the heck to the rear too. Saved us at least $400. Of course, like always, it will cost me alot of "praise singing".

BKA , do you dare even mentioning the OUCH cost , ( no biggy if you don't) ? I do almost all of my own work so I am a little out of touch with shop costs .
