Well the s 10 is gone... I bought a new TV... I found and 06 silverado 1500 long bed ext cab...

Its lm7 300 hp 5.3 and 3:42 rear. 4 speed trans... This is new to me... G 80 locker rear...

Im so happy...

Only 77k miles on her..

So tow rating is 7500 lbs...

Anyone have any suggestions ? I may trade in the trailer I have and go bigger now that I am a MAN with a full size truck....LOL

Looking at captiva from coachmen... real light from what I see...

Pics to come when Brake controller in and I hook it up...

5.3s like to rev, just remember that especially with 3.42 rear end if you upgrade trailers. I pulled our 8k gvw trailer with my 5.3 and 3.73 gears fine. Really steep long hills I downshifted to 2nd but that wasn't too often.

Bought a 2500 Yukon XL 6.0 for yanking the camper now and don't regret it one bit.

Had the same truck, but an '07 classic. Had it for over 200K miles and the worst problem I ever had was bad front hubs. Thats the kind of trouble-free ownership we all seek. Best overall truck I've ever had.

Previous RV was a 5000-ish pound TT. That truck handled it just fine on flat ground, but in the hills it struggled a little (even downshifting to 2nd gear). Never took it the mountains with this truck since we always had a diesel TV for that purpose.

You'll probably be OK in the 5000 pound range, but I wouldn't go past that.

The GVW and axle weight sticker has been rubbed off.... How can I get this sticker?

Sounds like a great truck, except for the 3.42 axle ratio. Switch to 4.10 or 4.56 and you will be much happier with the towing power, especially with the 4 speed auto tranny.

I recently bought an 07 classic ext cab long box, so same cab. Husky liner makes a pretty nice organizer for under the back seat

lawrosa, nice truck! That body style Chevy and dash was the best. That's a heck of an upgrade in a TV. Enjoy.

Nice survivor and you will appreciate the 4 wheel drive for those few times you will need it. Get the dealer to throw in the missing hubcaps!!

Congrats on your new truck, just change all the fluids if needed and spark plugs. You have a really good truck that will serve your purpose well. Btw did u get a 4x4? If you did then if you decided to go to a different gear like 3.73 or 4.10 then it will cost more. If not then a 2 wheel drive is of course much cheaper... !!And plus you have the G80!! Good deal enjoy the new ride!
A truck, a camper, a few toys, but most importantly a wonderful family.
