1996 Lance Squire 3000 Questions:

Just picked up a nice 1996 Lance and doing a thorough cleanup. Noticed there are dead bugs in the snout front window at the head of the bunk. Looks like double glass and possibly clasps all around that hold the inner window on. I can undo the screws and clean the bugs out, clean the glass but just wonder why it was built in this way?
I don't see the point unless it's for thermal reasons.. Any knowledge on this subject much appreciated.

Now we are making some sense of it... That is very cool.. I am in Oregon so not unusual for these parts I guess... Still wondering how the bugs got in there... Thanks for all for the great posts!

Cabover looks a lot like my 2003 1130. The inside window on mine is part of the winter package. It has a small rubber strip around the inside edge (edge facing the outer window) which is suppose to seal it and act like a double pane window. Doesn't seal real well but does help some with thermal and condensation issues.

Yep! Pictures it is ::: I'm intrigued that I may have something unique.. Lance sure seems to have a lot of model lines and often it seems models within models so maybe this is some sort of special order or sumptin'... I'm just now starting up the second day of ownership of the new rig.. since driving across the state to pick it up couple of days ago drained my tanks, I needed a rest day yesterday.. I'm ready to go today and will get a lot done..
I will get some shots of the dismantle of this whacky inner window..
I can't live with all those cooked dead bugs in there right by my head on the pillow that's for sure... Pics imminent!!!

Here is one I do have already...

Sounds like something a previous owner added. Just thermal.

I've considered often of adding an inner window to the inside frame, just never followed thru. Needs to be semi sealed to be really effective.
Primarily for same thermal reasons- ours sweats/makes water something fierce with the smallest amount of temperature difference, though ours is sloped. Also would help alot I think with direct sun.

Now I'm gonna have to take a look at mine. I assume it is for safety reasons? Redundancy?
