is it too soon to hear some first hand reports on the new GM trucks ? I'd love to hear real towing reports from 1500 owners that have the 6.2 max towing pkg and from 2500 owners with the same pkg in the 6.0L engine. I can't believe GM won't put the 6.2L in the 2500's. Thnx

I'm glad it is just your opinion. My first hand experience as a contractor is that the 6.0 has and is doing everything we ask of it without issue.

2015 GM HD trucks use carryover engines/trans.

The 6.2L is all aluminum and I would be surprised if it ever makes it into the HD. I expect GM to use the same tricks, or design/tech, on the current 6.0L as they used on the 2014 5.3L and 6.2L in half tons to bump power by about 15%.

GM's 6.0L has had the lowest power output of the HD gas trucks since it launched in 2007.5. Ford had the V10, then 6.2L. Ram the 5.7L and now 6.4L. Despite this, all comparison tests show it is still competitive. It is nearly bulletproof, cheap to maintain, and reasonable on fuel.

I am extremely happy with my 2012 6.0 2500HD Chevy. I read that there is very little difference in the chassis, engine and drive train for the 2011 - 2015 Chevy 6.0 2500 HD. I do not want an aluminum block engine in my HD truck and I don't need a diesel.

The 6.2 will not pass the HD rating because of the aluminum block so it will never go into the 2500s or the 3500s in it's current form.

I thought for 2015 they were. I just traded my 06 Durmax for a 6.4 Hemi and was disappointed I couldn't get the new Chevy 6.2. I thought the dealer told me it was coming in the 2015 models but I could be wrong.

That looks like a super nice setup. IMO, the 6.0 is a total dog and not worth anyone's time but I tend to get a lot of flames for saying that.

I rode in a new 1500 GMC last week and the one thing I noticed right away was the truck was very quiet. I asked him how it tows his boat compared to his previous 04 F150 with the 5.4 and his response was his new truck tows a lot better.

One negative I noticed was the leather seats seamed a bit too firm for me, which is usually opposite for GM's plush soft seats of the past.
