2002 Fleetwood Angler Limited ???? Questions

What say the board. Were these good campers? Pros and Cons?

I believe it is 7'6" wide?

Aluminum or wood frame?

Looks like it is well under 2000 pounds.

This unit has no AC. I would install a through the wall unit over the dinette as I could run it with a Honda 2000 and this would leave the roof free for Solar and a Kayak.

I'm hoping I can buy it for under $6,000.....

2002 Fleetwood Angler Limited Truck top camper for sale. We have outgrown our camper and need to upgrade in size so sadly we need to sell it. In great working condition. When you see it you will not believe it is a 2002. Has fridge with small freezer, kitchen sink, 2 burner propane stove, bathroom with small sink, toilet and hand held shower. We have never used the hot water tank so of course we have never used the shower. Propane heater. No air conditioner but there is a spot in ceiling to put one. 2 years ago we hit a tree branch by mistake and poked a hole in the roof so we had it professionally repaired and a new rubber roof installed by by rv dealer. Since we are camping with our children I was afraid of mold so I had them remove the one side wall to make sure no water got behind there, that is why you will see one painted wall in the picture. There was no water or mold found. Has one queen bed and the kitchen table converts to a twin and then the upper cabinets (above the kitchen table) lay flat to make another twin bed. Plenty of storage. Meticulously cared for and in great condition. When not in use it is kept under a shelter to protect it from the weather. It is waxed and winterized every year according to manufactures instructions. We have all the maintenance manuals and instruction books to go with it. It is currently winterized. Every year I remove all the cushions and mattress and curtains and store them outside of camper to keep them clean that is why they are not in the picture. They are in great condition. No stains, tears. They are a green color. It is for a short bed truck. If you have any other questions or would like to see it please let us know! Thanks!!

If it was me I would be patient and wait for a Lance 815 or Northstar . I looked at an angler and was not impressed and 6k sounds high, I would think around $4200. If you have 6K to spend I would think there is a better one out there. Heck I got a 2004 Northstar Laredo for $6000 And a 2004 Eagle Cap 800 Lite for $7400.

I had that exact model for eight years - bought it new in 2002. Got a lot of good use out of it. Pretty low-end camper, but we liked it. Yes, light weight - nice to carry.

If it has not been well-maintained, it will give you leak problems -- so check leaks carefully, then check for leaks carefully again, then once more.

I had no mechanical issues with it ... it had no A/C and crank jacks.

I sold it in 2009 for under $3000 -- so your price is very high for the Angler. If you get down to $3000-$3500, it's a good buy. I'll say this once more, check the maintenance, the caulking, the windows, and everywhere there is a seam. I'd go a bit higher if it has power jacks that work perfectly. Some don't ... even with power jacks, not more than $4000 would be a good price if everything else is top-notch and it has no water damage anywhere.

I had some seam water intrusion problems with mine in that regard, but stayed on top of it always, and it served me well... not everyone does good maintenance so that's my only warning.

ON EDIT: It's wood frame ...

I had a friend with a 2003 model and it seemed very close to the size and features of my Lance 165-s, with N-S bed. He had no woes with it. Of course he lives in the s.w. desert, so water intrusion is not so formidable. It seemed well built enough.

I had a 2000 Fleetwood Angler for 4 yrs until I sold it about two months ago.
I had zero problems. Light weight so easy to carry for my GMC 3500. You have to stay up on roof maintenance. They will develop leaks. They are wood framed. I sold it to get a larger camper.

Wood frame. I had a 2001 Elkhorn - great camper until it developed leaks.

years back I was looking at fleetwood TCs and IIRC the angler was the cheapest/bottom rung unit. the Caribou was the top of the line. a 13 year old TC sounds a little more than I would be willing to pay. unit sounds "iffy" to me.
