2020 sales

I have not seen this posted, but I have been gone a bit.

https://www.dieselforum.org/vehiclesales/u-s-vehicle-sales-dashboard

In the US of A, we sold almost 14.5 million vehicles, about 1.5 million were alternate fuel and of that about 659 thousand were diesel. The rest of the 1.5 million were electric, hybrid, and so on.

In the 3/4 ton and up, Ford, Ram and the GM twins (added together) all sold over 100,000 each. The number of Sprinter diesels really surprised me.

As Arte Johnson used to say: "Verrrry interesting" but I hope not a repeat.

Cummins12V98 is a good sport but on a serious note (:B) he must have took a vacation from marketing the Ram/Cummins platform since their sales numbers have slipped.

The last check bounced so I figured I would give GM and Ford a chance. :B

He is waiting for Ram to come out with SuperDuty style mirrors, before he gets a new truck. Then he'll say those Ram antlers are for hanging on the wall! :B

So, anyone else want to join the entertainment?? :C

Technically true but the fact is the AISIN has lower starting gears and easily get's my 35k rolling on steep grades.
Yes, I know. However, the "average Joe" only sees and/or appreciates the "6-speeds" and doesn't get into the technical stuff like the Aisin's lower starting gears. If it ain't on the window sticker, most of the time it's a moot point. That was my point in saying they both "have the same 6-speeds"---'cause that's all the average Joe is concerned about.

If Ram offered the average consumer the choice between an Aisin 6-speed or an off-the-shelf, proven 10-speed tranny for the same price (highly unlikely due to the Aisin's high cost), IMO the 10-speed would still easily outsell the Aisin by a very wide margin. Only a technically savvy person with a particular interest in MTBF under severe conditions might possibly go with the Aisin 6-speed in this scenario.
