6 volt batteries

Ordered two 6 volt golf cart batteries and picked up the 2 battery box from Century Plastics. Will wire these in series and strap them down and screw the box to the bracket. Is there anything else we need to do for this mod? Is the battery bracket on the tongue strong enough for the added weight. Anyone have any issues?
Thanks!

Will these 6 volts require distilled water top ups. Are we best to connect them to a charger in the winter. Will keep them inside during the winter while the trailer is in storage.
Thanks again.

Yes to distilled water. And yes to a trickle charger and indoor storage.

The battery place is making a cable for us and our trailer has a battery disconnect switch.
Thanks for the cleaning information. Will these 6 volts require distilled water top ups. Are we best to connect them to a charger in the winter. Will keep them inside during the winter while the trailer is in storage.

You will need a short cable to connect the batteries together, if you don't already have one

Not sure what the suggestion about the baking soda/water solution was though?

Wet cell batteries develop a coating of acid on their exteriors from off-gassing during the charge cycle. Corrosion builds up on the battery terminals, too. This is normal. Many of us clean our batteries and terminals periodically with a water/baking soda solution. This neutralizes the acid and cleans the terminals. Rinse with plain water.
If you drill drain holes in your battery box, you can do this procedure without removing the batteries from the box.

Good suggestions, one strap will be a lock. We have Mini Lite 2109s. Bracket looks plenty strong, just wondered if anyone had any issue.

You might want to wrap a cable lock around the box for added security.

What trailer do you have? Typical tongue battery locations will support the weight of two batteries.

Drill drain holes in the bottom of the box to get rid of the baking soda/water mixture for cleaning.
