Filled up my truck yesterday with diesel from Safeway. Price was $187.9. With my Safeway rewards of $1.00 I put in 19.78 gals for $17.39. Been a long time since I've seen it this cheap.

I wish prices on goods would drop back down now that fuel is so cheap. Remember when the price of everything was going up when gas was 3.50 a gallon? I guess somebody is pocketing the difference, I'm sure the airlines are having a field day with jet fuel prices so cheap.

True. Wife and I were talking about this the other day. Have yet to really feel prices of goods or airline tickets go down.

From what I've read this cheap fuel should last quite awhile. Latest predictions are oil selling for close to $20 in the near future.
I guess it's good but the reasons behind it aren't IMO.
Might be time to buy oil stocks when it hits $20. There's no way oil's staying at $20-30 for very long.

Yesterday at Sam's I filled up with $1.42 diesel in NE Okla. After fuel went into the stratosphere I never thought it would be this low again.

Well around here Freddys DOES shut off IF you are using fuel rewards. Shuts off at 35 gallons. If your not using fuel rewards, then it shuts off at $125.

And I've done safeway at close to 30 gallons with fuel points without shutting off.

My last diesel fillup at freddy's was 34 gallons at $1.09/gallon with fuel points.

Actually it's 25 gals.

The only alleged downside to cheaper oil is some poor little hedge funds and some bankers losing money.

That, and some oil companies who had very poor forecasters sell them drilling equipment so they could drill for more oil believing that $100 oil would last forever.

Unfortunately, they had to lay off a bunch of people, who also believed the good times would last forever.

You win some, and you lose some. It happens to everybody.

My Fred Meyer discounts stop at 25 gallons. Safeway prices are too high unless paying cash.

Everyone is blaming the Chinese market collapse on the Wall Street behavior. But there is no guessing what motivates that pack of sheep.

Cheap oil is a major benefit to most of the economy. For consumers it give them more free money to spend or save. For industry cheap energy is a major benefit. For the oil and gas industry of course it's a temporary disaster. The transportation industry is also making out in a big way.

Diesel is 1.96 and I live in a town that has a large refinery, go figure.

I know they don't have much in transport cost.
