So in a quandry .....

Looking for a specific vehicle and came across some very different ones ....EX:

#1) 2008 with 80,000 miles
#2) 2004 with 50,000 miles
#3) 2010 with 90,000 miles

The 2004 actually drove the nicest and has a fantastic price but...

Never bought a used vehicle that old !!!

Is it about age or mileage ???

Yes it is re: a tv. The 2004 had 2 previous owners and was serviced here regularly at the local dealership & confirmed via Carfax. ( there were 39 service records available).

I asked the dealer straight out why the miles were so low. He said that it was a family with 4 kids , it was Mom's vehicle and was used to ferry the kids around town. He even said that they traded in for a new Mini-van. Who knows if thats true..

Clean outside , a little wear inside but no stains, tears. etc. Dealer put on 4 new tires and new brake pads.

It seems great , its just the age thats making me hesitant.

And just asking what I think is a legit question, don't really want to get in to the whole tv debate.

Age and mileage means totally different things when it comes to RV's.
You can't go by how you buy a car.

A newer RV with 'very' low miles could mean it has just been sitting in a CG sinking into the dirt. The worst of worst purchases. Sitting long periods of time and not used is the kiss of death for them.

That's why IMHO, JMHO IMHO I prefer to buy my RV's from private parties.
Most RV'ers are anal when it comes to charting all what they have done to their RV's over the years because most are VERY proud of how they took care of it. AND can show you. Some people can only get away when they have vacation for long trips and maybe only RV once a month. So Mileage on an RV is a difficult thing to pigeon hole.

And on the other side of all that is you will KNOW if it was an RV parked in park as a living vehicle when you go to see it!! Just saying.

I think the discussion is tow vehicle.

More information is needed. As a graduate of the School of Hard Knocks, I can say from experience that 90,000 highway miles over 3 years is much less wear and tear than 50,000 city miles over 10 years, if that is the scenario.

None for RVing.

If you insist, then it doesn't matter much. Its the same design, same engine/trans. Pick the better maintained one, best color, etc.

Age is more of a factor at 10 years I think.

It's really about maintenance and care.
You could have two 2010 infiniti models equipped the same and driven the same number of miles, one would be great the other no so great. The great one was well maintained and driven with care the other was beat to death, not maintained properly, but looks as good as the great one.

I would have a mechanic look over two and choose the one with the best results.

Not sure about your 5.6L engine, but my 2004 4.5L Infiniti FX calls for plug replacement at 100k miles which requires removing the valve covers.
Just me but lower mileage on a gasser is the way I'd lean.

The 2004 with 50K would interest me more than the other two unless they were DP.
