Air Shocks

What about air shocks on a towing rig. Anyone use these instead of air bags? Or is that to much pressure on the shock mounts?

Are you saying the rear end should be raised to the unhitched height? If so, why?

I towed my TT with a previous F-150 that was 0-500 pounds over GVWR depending on the trip. If you return the front axle to unhitched weight, the rear will settle about 1.5-2" lower than unhitched height. Any more than that, and you exceed GVWR and probably rear axle rating. There is a reason why the rear springs are soft, the vehicle isn't designed to handle more weight!

What is your tow vehicle and are you using a weight distributing hitch? IMO, there is no need for adding rear suspension support with a properly adjusted WDH. Using additional rear suspension support tends to mask overloaded situations and makes WDH adjustment more complicated.

I installed a set of Timbren Support Enhancement blocks on mine. It rides a little rough without the trailer but it is okay for me.
