I am in the market for a travel trailer. What has been your experience with both? I am looking at the Lance 2285 vs the Airstream 25-27' Flying Cloud. I have not been able to walk in either since there are no dealers within a 3 hour drive. Finding that time has been crazy at the moment. I have heard wonderful things about both, but I wanted to get YOUR opinion, good/bad/ugly. Any help would be wonderful! Thanks!

If you get hail in Topeka and you end up buying an Airstream, make sure you have complete covered storage for it. Nothing more depressing than to see an Airstream that looks like a golfball.
I love me some land yachting

We have owned 3 Airstreams. We have owned a very expensive 5th wheel and a motorhome. The Airstreams were better than any of the other campers we have owned. We experienced less problems with them than others. If you plan to keep it for a long time it is a good investment.

The Lance is only slightly longer than my Winnie. The slide makes a huge difference in interior space and the reason I didn't consider an AS.

people have complained about the overhead cabinets in airstreams as the curved roof/wall cuts down on space/volume.

To me, Airstreams are cost-prohibitive (though well-built). They are also limited in terms of storage space and don't have slides. Lance is known for good products, but you might also want to check out Northwood Manufacturing (Nash, Arctic Fox). They build excellent units, too.

The Lance is expensive. The Airstream is ludicrously expensive. I like them both. 🙂
