Another new tow rig

New tow rig! Long story but traded the 11 Super Duty with the 6.7 a few years ago after putting the trailer on a seasonal site. I then bought a 15 Silverado 1500 crew cab LTZ.

Fast forward to now. I got tired of the seasonal game and shitty neighbors and missed traveling. The Chevy really would have struggled with the trailer having a loaded ready to camp weight of 8420lbs and a tongue weight of 1200 lbs. Payload on the Chevy I was 1680 lbs thanks to the LTZ crew cab configuration.

So not wanting to the expense of another diesel although the Cummins would have been great I went with my first Dodge/Ram with the 6.4 Hemi. I could not find one equipped like I wanted with the 4.10 gears so I settled for the 3.73. It is still rated at over 12K lbs and with a payload of 2890lbs it should do fine.

Anyways her she is....

The camper after 8 hours scrubbing the 3 years of seasonal sitting grime off it it.

Good buy there!

Don't worry about the 3.73's. You've got a 6-speed transmission which makes it tow like it's got 4.30's anyway.

Putting 10-ply tires on half ton trucks since aught-four.

I actually think the 18" Laramie wheels are the best looking one RAM offers. I steered away from the 20" because of looks and higher tire replacement cost.

Nice truck, I love a white truck! I bought mine used and it was gray. Every time I see a white Ram HD I feel a little remorse...

Yes they're very nice wheels. Put a set of takeoffs on my 07. I don't like that there are plastic inserts in each hole, but mine still look like new after 2 easy years. Black ones.
Hauled my 4500lb camper. X country, OE tires, without issue too, so their he stout enough

It is kinda weird they use those plastic inserts but the look good. One of the better looking HD wheels.
